What is Sculptra and How Does It Work?
Sculptra is a collagen biostimulator composed of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible substance that stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin.
When injected, Sculptra acts as a regenerative agent, signaling fibroblasts (skin cells) to produce more collagen. This process results in firmer skin with fewer wrinkles and reduced sagging.

How is the Sculptra Procedure Performed?
The procedure is performed in a clinical setting and is relatively simple. A fine needle is used to apply the product to the desired areas, such as the face, neck, or body, depending on the patient’s needs. On average, one session per year is recommended, depending on the dermatologist’s assessment.
After the treatment, mild swelling and, in some cases, small bruises may appear. These effects are normal and typically disappear within a few days.

How Long Does the Effect of a Collagen Biostimulator Last?
In general, the effects last 18 to 24 months. However, it is recommended to undergo regular assessments and additional collagen stimulation at least once a year to maintain the best results.
The number of syringes required varies from patient to patient. A medical evaluation and an individualized treatment plan are necessary to determine the exact needs of each case.
